Fulton County Seeks Volunteers for 2026 Point in Time Count Volunteer registration is open now ATLANTA – The Fulton County Department of Community Development is seeking community volunteers to help conduct the 2026 Point-in-Time Count (PITC), its annual count and survey of individuals experiencing homelessness in Fulton County. The Point-in-Time Count (PITC) is a countywide effort to count and survey individuals experiencing homelessness. Survey results provide a snapshot of the minimum number of people experiencing homelessness within Fulton County—excluding the City of Atlanta. The Count provides an opportunity for residents and local businesses to learn about people who are experiencing homelessness and contribute to the County’s efforts to address homelessness. The count also helps determine the scope of homelessness, identify available resources and services, and identify gaps to improve services and outcomes for vulnerable residents. The 2026 Point in Time Count dates for street canvassing are Thursday, January 22, in South Fulton and Friday, January 23, in North Fulton. To prepare volunteers for this important work an orientation and training is provided prior to the day of the Count. “Previous Point-in-Time Count surveys suggest that the number of people experiencing homelessness in Fulton County is anywhere between 241 to 339 people,” said Stanley Wilson, Director, Fulton County Department of Community Development. “With the help of the community, we will be able to better understand the needs of people experiencing homelessness and take steps toward ending homelessness in the County.” Description automatically generatedVolunteer Registration opens on November 6, 2025, and to volunteer, register by clicking https://fulton.pointintime.info. Following registration, volunteers will receive a confirmation email, directions to set a password to your account and information on volunteer training. Media Credit: Marvin Arrington Jr

🚨 Breaking News from Fulton County! 🚨 Tonight, Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. is calling for generational change in county leadership and building momentum in the race for Fulton County Chairman. Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. is hosting a high-energy birthday fundraiser at Prime on Peachtree (1029 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta)—from 7 to 10 p.m.—as he advances his bid to become the next Chairman of the Fulton County Commission. His message: Generational change = results-focused, accountable leadership for the next 20 years. He emphasizes that while the current Chairman has held elective office in city & county roles for over 50 years, “it is time to pass the baton to the next generation of leaders.” Arrington also underscores his claim that he is “the true Democrat in this race,” and is building broad momentum from business, civic, media and cultural leaders across Atlanta. The host circle for tonight’s event includes a who’s-who of Atlanta influencers and personalities. Supporters call this a defining moment for Fulton County—shifting from long-standing patterns to renewed leadership that is more innovative, responsive, and accountable for everyday families. 🗳️ It’s time for change. It’s time for leadership that matches the future. It is time to move Fulton County Forward as One Fulton. #OneFulton #FultonForward #ArringtonForChair #GenerationalLeadership Media Credit: Marvin Arrington Jr
