ulton County Releases January 2025 Point-in-Time Count Report The report reveals the faces of the homeless amidst growing needs. ATLANTA – Fulton County Continuum of Care (CoC) has released its annual number of individuals in shelters, temporary housing, and unsheltered settings. The 2025 Point in Time Count (PIT) Report indicates that more than 40% of those experiencing homelessness in Fulton County are unsheltered. On January 28, 2025, the PIT Count identified a total of 241 homeless individuals in the county. Of these, 103 individuals were classified as unsheltered, residing in places not meant for human habitation, while 138 or 57%, were sheltered in emergency shelters or transitional housing programs. The totals represent a 28.9% decrease from the 2024 count. “This is a vital and ongoing project that allows Fulton County to collect the necessary data needed to understand the demographic characteristics and living situations for persons experiencing homelessness,” said Stan Wilson, Fulton County Director of Community Development. “The goal is to not only collect this data, but to find unsheltered homeless individuals and families and connect them to available resources.” The Report also indicates that: 69% of homeless households counted were composed of adults. 28.2% of homeless households counted had one adult and one child. 18.7% of the homeless counted were children under the age of 18. Each year, the Fulton County PIT Homeless Count identifies vulnerable groups. Volunteers and service providers traveled throughout Fulton County conducting the surveys, providing outreach, and gathering information to determine which services are needed to alleviate barriers to housing. The vital information received from the Point-In-Time Count will help guide policies and initiatives to provide support, encourage community involvement, and find effective solutions. The CoC uses this real-time data to give a picture of how many people are entering the system, how many are leaving, and how many are moving into housing and able to stay housed.
